THE WITCH’S PURSUIT Vintage Chalky White Ceramic Decorative Bowl
A vintage sculpted bowl, done in a continuous bas relief with a chalky, ceramic finish. Very detailed. This particular scene is known as “The Witch’s Pursuit” from the Robert Burns poem Tam O’Shanter. It’s the Scottish folktale of a man that comes upon a coven of witches in the woods, and when he is discovered, he’s chased by the young witch Nannie, who vengefully pulls out his horses tail. I love this bowl, it would make an amazing accent on a display stand. Unsure of its suitability for serving food, I’d keep it to decorative use.No stamp or signature on the bottom.Measures roughly 14” across. No chipping or damage.True Vintage.
